NdimLo Cultural Heritage and Innovation Foundation (“NdimLo”) was blessed when its founder, Ms Mbete met the founder and chairman of Huawei in Shenzhen, the Peoples Republic of China. In memory of his parents, who were both teachers, he donated R1 million. He expressed a wish that it should go towards the pre-school stage of education. To respect and honour that wish the donation was consciously channeled towards helping 5 (five) rural village communities. In the Eastern Cape two areas, Mangqobe and Nkantolo were identified. In Kwazulu-Natal, eMpangeni and eMahlutshini. The last was in Limpopo, Senwabarwana. In each setting care was taken to first brief village structures of leadership. A community based committee would then be formed to oversee the project, manage and account for the financial contribution. In all cases, local primary schools were identified where childcare facilities were dded. This enabled the village communities to get roofs over the heads of pre-school children and their minders.
